CPI Antony Rowe invest £1.5m in second KOLBUS KM 200 binding line
KOLBUS UK are busy installing a second KOLBUS KM 200 Perfect Binder at CPI Antony Rowe, Melksham. The line includes the first UK installation of a KOLBUS HD-HD Three Knife Trimmer and follows on the heels of another KOLBUS KM 200 which is now up and running at their German plant Buchbucher.de.
This KOLBUS KM 200 digital binder is proving to be the “machine of choice” for many bookbinders and print finishers. Equipped for feeding book blocks or stacks of loose sheets it produces top quality products conventionally at speeds up to 5,000 copies per hour, goes almost instantly from hardback to paperback production, and produces runs of one.
Trimming is being performed on the UK’s first KOLBUS HD-HD Three Knife Trimmer. Featuring a double cutting station that first cuts the foredge and then the second station cuts head and tail. To further enhance flexibility both the side knives and bed adjust.
Martin Collyer, Divisional General Manager of CPI Antony Rowe, said: “we have enjoyed a long-standing partnership with KOLBUS UK and these latest machines are exactly what we were looking for. They are perfect for both our very short run products and longer run output. In particular the speed of make-ready capability ensures that we’ll continue to be able to fulfill customer needs well into the future”.
Robert Flather, KOLBUS UK MD, said: “CPI Antony Rowe have been KOLBUS customers for some 30 years. During this time KOLBUS have continued to invest in research to keep up to date with developments and future-proof their product range. The confidence CPI have shown in these KOLBUS products, and after-sales service, demonstrates the value of such long-term partnerships”.
